Vamp Collaborations

Capetonians will all know and love the irresistible Vamp showroom in Woodstock which houses the most beautiful mid-century collectables, including furniture, gifts, kitchenware and other quirky finds. Now there's more exciting news – they recently opened a new room within the existing Vamp store known as Vamp Collaborations. Owner Paula van Niekerk says, 'We wanted a separate space where we could collaborate with other like-minded artists, designers and collectors on an ongoing basis and luckily had the space to extend our shop.' As lovers of original mid-century collectables and designer pieces, the Vamp team felt the need to display these items in their own special space. This passion led to their first collaboration, a showcase of the collectables of Kerrod Modern, a division of Kerrod Antiques. Paula explains, 'Justin and Shire Kerrod are a well-known fixture on the antiques circuit, having built a formidable reputation as being among the city’s most well versed professionals in the trade of original mid-century modern furniture pieces. We are super excited to be collaborating with them and showcasing their beautiful pieces, all for sale in our store.' Collectors will be thrilled to find originals by the likes of Niels Møller, Boris Tabacoff, Frank Reenskaug and Parker Knoll on display, together with exclusive Kartell items and Tom Dixon copper shades. More contemporary pieces complement the above, including carefully sourced pieces from Sobeit, Soetcookie and ceramicist Martine Jackson. Going forward Paula and fellow Vamp owner Michael Dodds will introduce a whole host of both established and up-and-coming design talent in their Vamp Collaborations space. And with Paula's expert eye for stand-out vintage design and the amazing local designers at hand, we're looking forward to seeing who else occupies this space!
