Stylish Children's Rooms

This month's 'Happy Homework' shoot in the Trends section proves that winter doesn't necessarily dictate subdued neutrals and moody palettes. Instead, why not have some fun with vibrant prints and upbeat colours? Children's rooms are the one place you can get away with graphic details, creative themes and pops of colour, as House and Leisure's Decor Editor Jeanne Botes discovered. She teamed up with photographer Justin Patrick to create three distinct, inspiring spaces for little ones. 'Sugar and Spice' offers a cheerful mix of pinks and prints for a playful, girly look. Then, for the boys, they've gone for a slightly offbeat nautical theme in 'Boy Meets World', and have included clever storage solutions to keep the mess to a minimum. Thirdly, 'Nature's Child' is a quiet toddler's space, filled with touches of the environment and fun little creatures. Recreate these looks in your child's room by turning to page 42 of our 2012 June issue, on shelf now...
