Text Deborah Louw Styling Jeanne Botes Photographs Micky Hoyle The seaside town of Hout Bay has changed dramatically since the days of Jan van Riebeeck, who mused in his diary in 1652, ‘The finest forests in the world lie scattered all about the mountain-side’. He had just ventured beyond his ship-refreshment station in Table Bay to the southern flank of Table Mountain. This exact location is where you’ll find this issue’s spectacular House of the Month. While the surrounds have changed over the years, the contours of the land have made the home’s architecture and structure a notable triumph. The result, to the owner’s delight, is the perfect summer home, complete with majestic mountain views and plenty of room to relax and entertain.
