Lindt Chocolate Studio Re-Opens

Not that we need another reason to love Lindt chocolate, but it doesn't hurt that they recently re-opened their delectable boutique store in the Mother City. Now situated at the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village (in the old Cape Quarter), the new, bigger space was unveiled to reveal an opulent boutique and studio filled with decadent delights. Compared with the first launch in November 2009, the new store is more than twice its original size and has a beautiful rich colour scheme including wooden textures and golden touches. We recently attended the opening where the city's Executive Mayor, Patricia De Lille, marked the occasion by placing her hands and feet in chocolate-coloured cement. The evening was a chocolate lover's dream, starting off with chocolate martinis, then moving onto trays filled with different Lindt treats, a squiz of the new kitchen, and ending with a delicious reminder of the boutique's irresistible offerings in the form of a goodie bag. As the only chocolate store of its kind on African soil, the new studio and boutique is also the first to represent the newly established Lindt & Sprüngli subsidiary in South Africa. One of the most appealing things about the new space is the introduction of their 'Pick & Mix' unit, where you can hand-pick Lindt Lindor truffles, various freshly-made chocolate creations from the Master Chocolatier and Lindt Hot Chocolate. Our other must-try indulgence is their latest chocolate treat, Lindt ice cream, which they will stock exclusively. You can also buy other merchandise from the store including Lindt recipe books, fondue sets and an array of chocolate-specific equipment. And if you're the type who likes to get your hands dirty then you'll be up for one of the workshops – from Cakes & Gateaux and High Tea Treats, to Confectionary, Decor Showpieces and Lindt Desserts, you can learn to make them all. There are also shorter courses available if you'd just like to have a bit of fun with a group of friends, like the Art of Truffle Making, Decadent Desserts and Lindt Chocolate Appreciation.
