Legendary quartz surface manufacturing company, Caesarstone, is looking for the ultimate multi-talented kitchen designer who can transform any kitchen from dull to fabulous! Caesarstone is looking for SIX brilliant designs that will unearth top design talent and the very best of South African kitchen functionality. As they put it, the final designs ‘must reflect the culmination of thoughts and ideas from around the globe but with a distinct South African flavour’. Amazing Prizes:
- The six finalists entries will be showcased on the Expresso Morning show on SABC 3 TV and each designer will be given the opportunity to explain their designs and communicate their design philosophy.
- First prize – R50 000 and an insert and interview on the Expresso Morning Show on SABC 3 TV to showcase the winning design.
- Second prize – R5 000 and Caesarstone will professionally photograph all six completed kitchens.
Aidan Bennetts of Aidan Bennetts Interior Design
Aidan Bennetts was born in Johannesburg and went on to study fine arts with a focus on sculpture. He attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, from the University of Cape Town. Aidan has been a presenter on Top Billing since 2006, as well as appearing in numerous international modeling campaigns over the last few years for mainstream brands such as Swatch, Levis, Honda, and Audi. He opened the Aidan Bennetts Design Studio in 2005 upon completion of his studies and within 4 months secured a valuable contract to develop the interiors for Haiku. He designed and facilitated the Top Billing makeovers for the TV program and magazine between 2006 and 2009.
Darren Bester of It Is Design
Darren Bester’s burning desire to be an Interior Designer saw him leave the corporate world to complete a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Interior Design at Greenside Design Center (validated through the University of Nottingham Trent) in 2005. He is a previous winner of the PG Bison Student Design Award and has had his Honours work published in Denmark. Under the mentorship of Charles Storr, Darren was apprenticed as a Junior Designer at The Kite Works. Now his own company specializes in Commercial, Retail and Restaurant Design across South Africa. His design philosophy is strongly based on passion, commitment to hard work and attention to detail.
Elloise Rudman of Sharson Projects
Elloise Rudman grew up in Gauteng and completed her matric year at Germiston Technicon in 1996. She went on to study her BA Hons in Interior Design at the Design Center. In her fourth year of study, she joined Sharson Contractors to gain professional experience and has grown within the Sharson infrastructure.
