Jozi Craft Beer Fest

Lovers of good beer will come together this Saturday at the first ever Jozi Craft Beer Fest. Organiser Jason Cederwell told House and Leisure that the concept arose from the limited availability of craft beer in Jozi. 'We want to build awareness of the craft beer industry and showcase the incredible microbreweries that South Africa has to offer,' he explains. There will be 16 microbreweries participating from all over the country, who collectively will be offering over 50 different types of beer. Besides 'incredible beer', Jason promises that there will be loads to look forward to on the day. 'This will not be your typical beer fest as we aim to provide a setting that complements the artisanal feel.' By this Jason means hay bales scattered among crates, finished off with live acoustic performances. 'In addition to beer, we will have pop-up food stalls from Jozi's foodie hot spots and we'll also be showcasing some local design and decor.' The inaugural Jozi Craft Beer Fest is set to take place at Pirates Sports Club in Greenside on Saturday, 26 May, from 10am-7pm. Tickets are available at webtickets.co.za and at the door for R100. This includes a branded beer mug. For more information you can visit jozicraftbeerfest.co.za
