Haldane Martin showroom

Local furniture designer Haldane Martin has opened his first retail showroom. Aptly located in the centre of Woodstock, aka Cape Town's design district, the beautiful yellow and grey space was inspired by the name of the building in which it stands – Fairweather House. A selection of Haldane Martin designs, both established and never-seen-before, are on display in the showroom, and the space is also a creative work studio, as both his interior design practice and furniture workshop are on site. 'It is good for me to work in our showroom space, as I can see how potential clients react to our work, and I am here to answer questions,' Haldane told HL. The showroom, which comes across as something of a gallery, also displays work from other leading South African designers and prominent local artists. 'We will always display the good work of other local artists and designers as long as it complements our work,' Haldane explained. 'We have a mix of very established designers and artists such as Ronel Jordaan and Brett Murray and also hot up-and-coming talents like Susan Duncan and Laurie Wiid.' The new showroom is at Shop 4, Ground Floor, Fairweather House, 176 Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock. You can contact the store on 021-461-1785 or visit their website for more info.
