Designer Moodboard

HL tasked Capetonian creator of mohair and wool accessories, Bridget Henderson, to create her very own mood board using our nifty HL Mood board tool. The result is both cheerful and inspiring, lending itself perfectly to the New Year spirit. We asked the owner of Cowgirlblues to elaborate on her choice of images and tell us a bit more about what inspired her... 'My selection of images was a lot more about inspiration rather than trends. With the concept of Christmas still fresh in my mind, the colours red and green have somewhat been lingering, and I was drawn to images that reflected that – food, gardens and some incredible interior spaces. The holiday season is often about eating, which the food pictures represented, and I also liked the gift-giving presentation of this idea in the image of the Raspberry Shortbread Bars.' 'Green is an abundant, vital colour and represents growth. It's also a big theme as it becomes increasingly important to green our environments and to live in more sustainable ways. Red is all about strength, power and heat to me – and January here is hot! The shape of the chilis made me think of Christmas trees and candy canes, which are often hung on trees in traditional stories, and these looked to me like perfect local alternative Christmas tree decorations.' You can also read our Twitter interview with Bridget here to find out more about her label and beautiful creations... Keep an eye on our Trends section in the next while as we'll be featuring more creative mood boards by local talents. We encourage you to also give it a go to store all your favourite images from our site in a neat, convenient space!
