Modern day Brazilian pop artist Romero Britto’s works reflect his creative energy and love of colour. His expressive paintings and sculptures are on display in several galleries around the world, while some have made it into the personal collections of well-known personalities like Eileen Guggenheim, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, Prince Albert of Monaco and Michael Jordan. Britto’s career was first launched by the famous Absolut Vodka campaign but has taken a slightly different turn with this fun homeware collection, which will soon be available in South Africa. The Collectibles range includes everything from mugs and teapots to umbrellas and scarves. But it’s his objects designed for the kitchen that have caught our attention. All the pieces have a signature bright, cheery and somewhat Picasso-esque look. Each one has its own shiny personality, with an assortment of patterns, shapes and hues that would make the range fit right in at a ‘mad hatters’ themed party, or simply liven up your kitchen in a big way. The Britto Collectibles Collection will be available at select stores nationwide. For further stockist information please call Kitchenique on 011-804-5826.
