We caught up with Cape Town-based food writer, food designer and food entrepreneur Andy Fenner about the 2012 House and Leisure Food issue, what he likes cooking and more… (Hashtag: #HLFood) @houseleisureSA We’re chatting to @JamieWhoSA about #HLFood. First question: What was your first impression of the cover? @JamieWhoSA Hey hey. I think the cover is pretty ballsy. Something a bit different. Very cool. @houseleisureSA Have you seen any recipes you’re dying to try out?#HLFood @JamieWhoSA Not one specific one.I see recipes as starting points for your own interpretations and ideas. The overall style is rad though. @houseleisureSA Do you have any special recipes you love making for family and friends? #HLFood @JamieWhoSA I dig to get guests involved in the process. Homemade pizzas are a cool way to get people to roll their sleeves up. @houseleisureSA And lastly, is there anything you’d like to see more of in the next #HLFood? @JamieWhoSA I’m a fan of the cheaper/less fancied meat cuts. Brisket, short ribs, beef shin etc. And offal. I love it. I think people are petrified of these things because they don’t know what to do with them. You guys have a cool platform. @houseleisureSA Thanks so much for your time, @JamieWhoSA! We hope you’ll try some of the recipes from #HLFood and show us your interpretations 🙂 @JamieWhoSA No worries. Massive congrats to you guys and specifically @iwantcupcake for the awesome stuff she’s doing for your mag. You can follow Andy on Twitter here for regular updates.
