True luxury can be found in the details. Soft, inviting sheets, warm bathroom towels and tiles, a refreshing mimosa on a hot summer’s day. These little things elevate the grand splendour of an elegant and sophisticated five-star hotel, and make a stay all the more pleasing. It is the attention to detail that makes The Light House Boutique Suites the perfect luxury escape.
Located in the heart of Paarl, just off the main road, The Light House Boutique Suites is the converted home of Dirk and Annette Hertzog. Annette wanted to create a sanctuary where guests could enjoy the beautiful space that used to be their family home.
The house is picture-perfect. Surrounded by a lovely garden and featuring stunning vistas of the Paarl valley, when you enter the gates, you immediately know you have arrived at a place of relaxation and refinement. Everything from the parlour to the rooms has been lavishly decorated. The bottom communal space of the house is adorned with significant artworks, crystal chandeliers and bespoke furniture. The grandeur of the interiors like this could be intimidating, but the atmosphere of this establishments is charming and comforting. You are invited to be a part of the space, rather than just admire it. This comfort is amplifed when you enter the suites.
There are five suites, each with their own theme. Every effort has been made to ensure maximum comfort – soft furnishing, luxurious fabrics and Egyptian cotton bed linen are just the tip of the opulent iceberg. The bathrooms have underfloor heating and a heated towel rail, so everything is nice and toasty when you get out of the shower. All the rooms offer wonderful views of the garden and the valley below.
The garden is well maintained and has different spaces for you to enjoy. There is a terraced garden, a gazebo and a 16m swimming pool to relax in.
The service staff are all present to greet you when you arrive, and there is nothing too small for them to do. Expertly trained by the management team, they do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This is really felt in the little things they do. From taking your food and drinks orders to the turndown service complete with chocolates and a bottle of water at your bedside, you really feel taken care of.
In the mornings, you can indulge in a selected breakfast menu which includes fresh produce from the area. Dinner is available on request, and you can partake in a splendid afternoon tea that has all the trimmings, including cakes, sandwiches and fluffy, warm scones with preserves.
If you want to explore the area, a shuttle service can be made available on request and excursions to Cape Town, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch can be arranged. Above all else, guest privacy is of utmost important at the hotel, and the staff ensure that this is met in the best way possible.
