There is nothing better than those first few steps on the beach – the warm sand squishing between your toes, sun tingling on your skin, bright beach umbrella in tow and the excitement of a cool dip in the water! Here are seven beaches around South Africa we think are worth visiting this summer:
1. Camps Bay, Cape Town
With its pristine white sand and sparkling waters you are more than likely to spot a celeb or two bronzing their bods at this popular beach.
2. Coffee Bay, Wild Coast
Peace, quiet and tranquility are ensured when visiting this incredible beach.
3. Umhlanga Rocks, KwaZulu-Natal
If you like the hustle and bustle, this resort town north of Durban is ideal for a family vacay.
4. Blouberg, Western Cape
Keep the kids busy and safe exploring the many rock pools while you enjoy the breathtaking view of Table Mountain.
5. Sodwana Bay, Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Love to dive? This special spot boasts a 50km reef complex! Or for something a little bit different to do, try horse riding on the beach!
6. Gordon’s Bay, Western Cape
Catch a wave at Bikini Beach! This small and popular beach is a lovely weekend holiday option.
7. North Beach, Durban
Perfect for water-sports, long walks or a day in the sun with the family, North Beach is a dream not only for holiday makers but the locals too!
