In our May 2012 Easy Living issue we featured some of our highlights from the recent Design Indaba. Under 10 Reasons to Love Local Design we showcased the art pieces of Keri Muller – in fact, it was impossible to miss her unique works of art, made from mixed mediums, including paper, old books and playing cards (page 50). Now she’s got our attention again with her ‘Inspiring Spam’ range of tea towels. If you get slightly irked by the flood of spam that comes into your inbox every day, these tea towels will make you see things in a whole new light. She’s taken inspiration from this very source and used motivational messages as the basis of her creations.
With positive messages like ‘Everything is possible’, ‘A cup of tea makes everything better’, and ‘Trust your intuition’, these tea towels will give you something to smile about as you indulge in your morning cuppa. These delicate products are screen printed onto a hemp/cotton blend, and Keri’s decided on a natural cream colour as her basis.
The writing that’s printed onto the fabric is available in vibrant hues like blue, orange, gold and a cerise red.
They’re priced from R125 each and can be found at The Fringe Arts on Kloof Street, Cape Town.
