The brief given to the architect who transformed this seaside holiday home in Stilbaai was to create a contemporary beach house with a glorious view and plenty of open spaces.
For the area's often windy climate, adding stacking doors and windows was key for transforming this home. The owners open them fully on sunny, still days and utilise the interior space by shutting them in windy or wet weather.
The overhangs, which were extended primarily to create more shade, also enable the owners to open the stackers in rain and still remain sheltered.
The transformation has made the home a truly modern inside-outside space.
