This is what is on our radar this week.
Easter brings with it a few much-needed days off, allowing you to spend quality time with all your favourite people. This week's #HLDiscovery looks at a variety of events and treats that you can enjoy with friends and family this weekend.
1. Food Lover's Market hot cross buns and pickled fish
Is it even Easter without hot cross buns and pickled fish? Food Lover's Market has a variety of delicious hot cross buns for you to to stock up on that everyone will love (including those who dislike raisins). Think traditional, cranberry, chocolate, no fruit and extra spicy hot cross buns – all at under R20 per pack. And of course, the buns are all baked daily, so you can get them fresh. There's also plenty of pickled fish on offer, which retails at R70 for a 500g tub.
2. Easter marshmallows and Sunday family lunch at Steenberg
Spare yourself time in the kitchen preparing an Easter meal by opting for a lovely Sunday lunch out at Steenberg in the Constantia wine valley instead. At Catharina’s Restaurant, Steenberg executive chef Kerry Kilpin will delight young and old with her delicious Easter Sunday lunch menu, complete with a dessert table featuring all her signature sweet temptations.
Children will be treated to a fun-filled Easter egg hunt, followed by a special menu. The soft-serve ice cream and chocolate fountain on the Easter dessert table will be another sure winner – and not just for the little ones.
Plus, during the entire weekend (9 to 22 April 2019), visitors to the Steenberg Wine Tasting Room will be welcomed with a decadent Easter marshmallow before enjoying their wine tasting.
