A southerly breeze. Panoramic views across False Bay. Classically furnished (and very comfortable) interiors. And then there are the penguins – there are almost always large crowds of the much-loved birds, plainly visible on Foxy Beach directly below… This is the scene at Tintswalo Boulders, where guests enjoy direct access to Boulders and Foxy beaches, with their world-famous resident colony of endangered African penguins.

Tintswalo Boulders

Tintswalo Boulders operates on a bed-and-breakfast basis with nine double suites, and a children’s suite, which is decked out in an ultra-cute custom-designed penguin wallpaper. Full breakfast and afternoon snacks are included, and a concierge service is available for booking nearby restaurants, snorkelling safaris and guided sea kayaking excursions. The entire villa can also be booked on an exclusive-use basis for families and friends travelling together, and sleeps 18 adults and two children.

Tintswalo Boulders

Situated en route to Cape Point, the Boulders area is known for its pristine swimming beaches and Tintswalo Boulders – surrounded by fynbos and sporting a north-facing outlook with great views – makes the most of its beautiful location. The boutique villa’s spacious, luxuriously furnished living and dining areas are situated adjacent to large terraces and a sheltered central courtyard with a fire pit. On the upper deck, even the pool boasts panoramic ocean vistas.

The luxe suites all have en suite bathrooms and are decorated in contemporary classic style, with tranquil shades of blue and green featuring alongside stone, cream and other neutral tones. Some of the rooms also have private balconies or their own petite terraces. And as a homage to maritime history and Tintswalo Boulders’ location in Simon’s Town, each room is named after a historically renowned ship – a charming finishing touch.
