blooming beautiful: samesyn linen's spring collection
Posted: 11 September 2018
Large, cheerful blossoms explode against a dark background in one of the images in Samesyn's latest collection – a brand that prints original styled food photography on luxury linen. Launched in May this year, Samesyn consists of Elmarie Berry who develops recipes and styles the food, and Lindy Kriek who photographs them. Samesyn's printed linens have been made into wall art, serviettes, aprons, tea towels and tablecloths. Some of their popular designs include pomegranates, salted fish and leeks, all printed on their signature moody landscape. The latest range was inspired by spring and the new life, freshness and beauty that the season brings. On the new collection and the shoot, Berry says: 'We loved the moody contrast between the blooming blossoms and dark branches and decided to do the shoot in a white-blossomed orchard. Touches of light pink were brought in for some colour, but the main focus was to play with light against dark. We loved the design on the linen so much and knew it deserved to be paired with more collaborations in a styled shoot.'
