Plettenberg Bay textile brand Mungo Design has launched a gorgeous new blanket inspired by the traditional Nigerian Yoruba people's weaving practice. Dubbed the Quill blanket, it is woven from 100 percent cotton and is a nod to the Yoruba people's craft. Traditionally, in this culture, women work on broad looms to make items for domestic use, while men work on narrower looms to make fine garb for ceremonial use and other things of this nature. These beautiful pieces often have unique references to both community and the environment and it is from this age-old craft that Mungo's latest quality piece draws inspiration. The Quill blanket comes in three different sizes, including double, king and super king, and is available in three colours, namely Atlantic Blue, Fossil and Slate Grey. Use it as a throw to snuggle up with on the couch this winter or as a stylish extra layer for your bed.
