wooden rings

The multi-talented Cape Town-based designer Eon Hoon will be launching his latest range of wooden rings at this year's Design Indaba, on between 27 February - 3 March 2013. Previous unique creations that have 'wowed' us include his ceramic hearts, wishbone necklaces and violin lockets. This is one local jeweller who isn't afraid to push the envelope and experiment with groundbreaking design. His beautiful wooden ring collection is made using reclaimed wood, demonstrating Eon's commitment to 'greener' design. The different types of wood you can order them in include oak, cherry, purpleheart and pine, while they each have a silver sleeve to complete the distinguished look. The purpleheart ring pictured above (third from left) has a 9ct gold sleeve, which can be requested on order. Telling HL about the desired look and feel for the range, Eon says, 'I'm using the natural shape and textures of the wood, so they all have a certain unfinished quality and are nice and chunky'. Be the first to see them at the Design Indaba currently underway in Cape Town, where he'll have a limited number on display, or order your ring directly from the designer. Depending on the size and wood, the rings will sell for an average price of R420 each. For more information visit eonhoon.com, follow him on Twitter @eonhoon or call 083-578-7447.
