Wear Banana Bling

As we've noted before, 2016 is the year of the banana, so we couldn't help but fall in love with Cape Town-based jewellery designer and manufacturer Anna Rosholt's banana-inspired jewellery range, which captures this tropical fruit in 18 carat yellow gold (another 2016 trend).

Though, the gifted creative, who studied at the University of Stellenbosch, didn't create this collection merely to follow a fad. Not only is the banana her favourite fruit, but from a young age she was called 'Anna Banana', so the adornments hold sentimental meaning for her too. Each handmade creation is testament to Anna's passion for beautiful design, offbeat taste and attention to detail.

Take a look at some of her banana jewellery below:

insitu 1 These banana cufflinks are made from 18 carat yellow gold-plated sterling silver and go for R1 565. Just look at the detail on the peeled fruit. These would certainly add a spot of something different to a suit.

insitu 2 This cheeky large banana necklace costs between R592 and R740 (depending on whether it's on sale) and is made from silver plated in 18 carat yellow gold. It brings some tropical glitz to an outfit.

insitu 3 Much simpler and sleeker than the jewellery above, these banana earrings are both stylish and fun. They're also silver plated in yellow gold and will set you back between R280 and R350 (depending on specials).
