Style blogger Kim Gray shares her gift wrapping tips, inspired by her recent adventures abroad.
Why is the tradition of wrapping Christmas gifts special to you?
Wrapping gifts is one of my favourite things. It’s not only a creative joy, but therapeutic, too. Every time I wrap a gift it’s time spent thinking about that person.
Who is this gift for?
I excitedly wrapped my goddaughter’s gift first, a pair of gold, sequinned slippers from Morocco.
What is the inspiration behind this gift’s wrapping?
As I’ve just come back from shopping in Morocco and Paris, I used that as the inspiration for my wrapping. I used a Moroccan newspaper with traditional ribbon and a little touch of Paris.
What materials did you use?
Moroccan newspaper, scrap ribbon, chocolate decorations (from Woolworths) and Eiffel Tower key rings.
Do you have any tips for gift wrapping?
If you get creative, gift wrapping needn’t be expensive. Cutting shapes out of old board for cards or using newspaper is cheap and cheerful and gets a thumbs up for recycling.
