Rumour has it that furniture giant MADE will soon land in South Africa. The UK-based online business is known for its build-it-yourself furniture by talented designers.
It’s philosophy is focused on offering high quality yet affordable pieces by cutting out the physical stores and the costs that go with them.
Through this approach, the company’s website claims to cut up to 70% off of prices you would typically see for the same products in a store. While this may be the case in the United Kingdom, it remains to be seen whether it will be able to maintain such low pricing in South Africa.
Some MADE designers include Philip Colbert known for his playful shark chairs and nautical themed scatter cushions, Ian Archer for his timeless aesthetic in upholstery and chair design, and Laura Melhuish-Sprague for her artisanal fabric design.
No dates or details have been announced yet. While HL has sought out comment from MADE, no response has yet been received.
