On the 27th of April 2013, Durban is in for a treat as the Retro, Let’s Go Vintage Festival hits. The event, hosted at the DLI Hall, is set to get the city swinging and jiving like never before. The day will kick off with a market selling vintage and retro-inspired items. The idea is to offer a well curated platform for sellers and to include a hand-selected assortment of wares reminiscent of the 1950s. Some of the stall holders include Fat Tuesday, and the wonderful and historic Ike’s Books. To add to the fun, you can expect a hairdresser on standby to offer coifs and a tailor to add a bespoke element to vintage items bought on the day. The evening will be see a roaring 1950s-inspired dance where revellers can swing and sway to era specific sounds with a modern touch. The perfect event for ‘shoppin and boppin’.
