Touchee Feelee is a Cape Town-based home decor and pamper boutique, founded by Euodia Roets. She is a young designer and illustrator intent on making hand-crafted, organic products. In her own words, 'In a world of mass production, the touch of the hand has value'. She showcases her art using functional objects that people can touch and interact with – hence the name Touchee Feelee. Her unique range of felt coastes are fun, humorous and unlike any coasters on the market. They are made entirely by hand from durable industrial felt that’s been recycled – all sourced and cut in Cape Town. Euodia also told HL about her other range of doily coasters inspired by her childhood. 'They’re very reminiscent of my childhood because my mother and grandmother used doilies in the house', says Euodia. 'The No-Feet-On-The-Table coasters were made because of the cotton 'feet napkins' I also make. If you're going to have feet on the table, there must be a sign to say it's forbidden; otherwise it's no fun!'. She starts all her designs on paper (not computer) and from there it gets printed, stamped, stitched or cut depending on the product. The coasters come in a set of four and retail at R195 per set. They can be purchased directly from Euodia (contact her on firstname.lastname@example.org) or from her brand new online shop, store.toucheefeelee.co.za. Browse her website to view some of the other products at toucheefeelee.net or catch her at some of the markets happening in and around Cape Town.
