Malva Pop-Up at the Factory Cafe

Durban’s, Lauren Wallett is no stranger to the creative industry or the pop-up shop concept. In her latest adventure, she has teamed up with the purveyors of fine coffee, Colombo. Their industrial Factory Cafe lends itself seamlessly, to Lauren’s new vision, which offers services directly focused on branding and conceptualisation. Lauren not only sells her curated product range, including her Idea Box Frames, but also offers online brand development, through interactive brand experiences, including pop-ups, parties and gallery exhibitions. The shop experience and space has a theme which sees the use of a stage, bright colours and the introduction of Malva’s, ‘On the Dot’ theory. The idea is a celebration and invitation, for creatives to literally ‘step up’ onto her creative stage and takes the next step to their transformed brand. The result is a visual representation of all who have visited the space and offers a confetti like appearance, which reiterates Malva’s celebration of brands! The project also showcases a collaboration with the Woodshack, and their imaginative Creatures of the Night, wooden creations with a strong design influence. Visit Malva’s colourful and inspired pop-up space at The Factory Cafe, 369 Magwaza Maphalala (Gale St) or visit the Malva’s website and blog. Text Nadia van der Mescht
