Loom Chocolate

Loom, the men’s multi-brand fashion store that specialises in cult-status brands, is celebrating its first year anniversary, having opened in Parkhurst, Johannesburg last October. To mark the occasion, they've collaborated with Honest artisan chocolate. Honest chocolates are handcrafted, locally, with raw organic cacao from Ecuador. Together, the two brands ran a crowd-source design competition which invited creatives to design the chocolate’s wrapper. The winning design, by Miné Jonker of Studio Muti (studiomuti.co.za) is an illustration of a caveman turned into a softie with melted chocolate on his lips and tongue sticking out - yes, he's totally melted over. Apart from the wrapper, the chocolate itself is pure indulgence – without the preservatives. It's sugar- and dairy-free, so it's even suitable for diabetics and vegans, and it's sweetened with low-GI Agave nectar. The One Year Anniversary Edition chocolate is made from 72 per cent raw cacao and contains a subtle hint of cayenne pepper, cinnamon and vanilla. This unique variant is limited to an edition of 365 slabs, which are available exclusively in Johannesburg at Loom (Shop 22, Corner 4th Avenue & 10th Street, Parkhurst) and in Cape Town at Honest Chocolate (66 Wale Street, Cape Town CBD). They'll be sold for R60 per 60g slab. The individually wrapped bar makes for a great gift – although after having yours, you might be tempted to keep the rest for yourself.
