Item of the day: Ladybird Activity Kits

Do you long for the days when games were simple and creative, when the idea of making something out of scraps of fabric, and needle and thread was as exciting as any video game? These Ladybird Activity Kits might be just the thing for the child in your life (or the one that’s still hiding in your heart!) Available at Vanilla House in Florida Road, Durban, the Ladybird Activity Kits come in tins printed with the familiar and nostalgic Ladybird imagery which many of us remember so well. There are four kinds of kits. The 'First Aid' kit contains plasters, bandages, tape, pins and scissors and is perfect for the budding doctor in the family. In 'Things to Make', you'll find the components of a good old fashioned wiggly snake made from cotton reels and thread. The holes have already been drilled and you are also provided with paint and varnish to decorate your creation. 'Learning to Sew' is likely to bring back faded memories of early Home Economics lessons for some with its bits and bobs to make a felt teddy bear, whilst 'Tricks and Magic' will bring out the boy in many men. The kit will teach budding magicians to use magic cards, do rope and thumb tip tricks and includes miracle dice and multiplying balls. Sound like fun? Find them at Vanilla House, 54 Florida Road or telephone 031-303-5176 or see for more information.
