Handwoven in Ethiopia, these batik dresses are cool, feminine and casual. But don’t be fooled – they are showstoppers.
When international supermodel Liya Kebede saw how batik and weaving crafts were dying out in her native country, she created her label Lemlem, working with Ethiopian artisans to produce an amazing clothing range.
We picked this Adama Gauze dress (pictured centre) as our must-have item for spring. It retails at around R1654 ($245) from Lemlem online, but the label is soon to be stocked at Merchants on Long, so be on the look out! You can call Merchants for more details on 021-422-2828.
