Carol Lim and Humberto Leon stand on either side of Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.
Now that H&M has bases in South Africa, we get to benefit from the brand’s amazing collaborations with world-class forward-thinking designers, and we can’t wait for the results of the latest partnership.
The company’s 2016 designer collab will see H&M team up with Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the Creative Directors of Parisian fashion house Kenzo, to create a range of clothing and accessories for men and women that will launch in hundreds of selected H&M shops – including those at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront and Joburg’s Sandton City – on 3 November 2016.
As lovers of design, we’re always intrigued to see what will come out of the marriage of two aesthetically unique brands, but considering Kenzo’s passion for colour and youthful energy, we can safely assume that the final collections will be lively, vibrant, and full of fun.
As Lim and Leon have explained,’ With this collaboration with H&M we want to think big, push the boundaries and bring the new energy of Kenzo to everyone around the world’.
There’s no word yet on any novel homeware coming out of this partnership, but we’re holding thumbs that H&M’s eagerness to join forces with powerhouses like Kenzo will bring cutting-edge decor and interior pieces to our shores soon too.
Have a look at the progressive promotional video for the collab below, which reflects Kenzo’s animated approach and affinity for the digital age.
