Art lovers and wine appreciators, this week’s #HLDiscovery list features a mix of things that are sure to tickle your fancy. We look at a new art gallery, rediscover a classic red wine and have found a way for you to increase your wine knowledge.

An elegant new art gallery located in De Waterkant, Cape Town, No 5 on Hudson is spearheaded by former Country Living SA owner and former Miss South Africa, Sandy de Bruin. The gallery has a strong focus on female artists in South Africa and is used as a platform to empower and uplift them. The gallery is open 10am–5pm from Mondays to Fridays and 9am–1pm on Saturdays.
3. the practical guide to south african wine
Tour the winelands and up your knowledge with The Practical Guide to South African Wine, a three-part course conceptualised by Caroline Rillema, owner of Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar. The course is led by Lieze Norval, a registered wine guide, oenologist and viticulturist, and will take you through everything from wine production to the characteristics and taste of the different wines, as well as the language used to describe the varietals.
