This exhibition, which is on at KZNSA Gallery, showcases three international examples of doll-making from three indigenous groups. The artists all use doll-making to highlight cultural practices that support healing through storytelling, and the sharing of oral personal narratives, which promote the transmission of cultural teachings. The ‘Re-Stitching Culture’ collection of dolls, which collectively shows how the local indigenous communities, from each nation, are strengthened through reciprocol, creative and healing processes.

Untapped Craft Brew Fest
The Untapped Craft Brew fest is a coming together of breweries across South Africa to celebrate working together to create beautifully brewed masterpieces. You will have the opportunity to sample a selection of over 200 beers from across the world, including the country’s top craft beers. There will also be ciders and gins on offer and an interesting concept called ‘The Great Beer Exchange’ which will determine beer prices like a stock exchange for the first two hours.

Ruth First: 117 Days
Ruth First: 117 Days dramatizes First’s 1963 arrest and detention under the notorious 90-day clause. She became the first white woman to be arrested under this act. Ruth First was a journalist, academic and political activist during the height of apartheid who was eventually assassinated for her activism and beliefs.

The exhibition aims to reflect on the outdated notions of the nation.
