Internet search engine Google has changed its logo, it announced on 1 September.
The online giant cited an evolved focus and the need for the logo to look good on the smallest screen as two of its main reasons for making this change.
‘[W]e’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk),’ the company explained in a blog post.
The custom typeface, which Google has dubbed Product Sans, and overall new branding is meant to be uncluttered and friendly.
