Franschhoek Country Retreat
Surrounded by olive trees and with a distinctive Tuscan style, Jacqueline Crewe-Brown and her husband, Dunbar, along with architect Tony Doherty, conceived and built this beautiful home on the slopes of the Groot Drakenstein 10 years ago. The Crewe-Browns have managed to stay true to the natural surroundings of the mountainside and create a traditional and rustic style both inside the home as well as outdoors. Grand arches, terracotta finishes and roof tiles and pale pastel shutters are just some of the beautiful features you can spot from outside, while inside you’re greeted with a massive 4.5m fireplace, classic Persian carpets and magnificently exposed wooden beams. Get your hands on the August 2013 House and Leisure luxury issue to see the full feature.
