Flower Safari Spring Show

Don't miss out on this exciting show in the Mother City. Flower Safari is a group exhibition that celebrates Spring and will run from 25 October - 25 November 2012 at Let There Be Light, at the Side Street Studios in Woodstock. The Side Street Studios were developed based on the knowledge gained from working closely with the creative community in Cape Town over the past few years. Art forms vary from ceramic vessels that hold Spring flowers, to photography, to Nix Davies' combinations of recycled structures and manufactured shapes - the simple naked lighbulbs, for instance, are hung in ways that simply inspire imagination. Another artist, Emalie Bingham, was even motivated to collaborate with a few local flower sellers for her contribution to the Flower Safari 2012. Some of the other exhibited items that you can expect to see at Flower Safari include clothing by Take Care, jewellery by Dear Rae, art and products by Elsabé Milandri, Jessicah Pedersen, Ami Ellenbogen, Nix Davies, Kirsty Rielly, Emalie Bingham, Mariah Breitenberg and Julia Merrett, as well as vertical gardens by Garden Up. Entrance to the exhibition is free and everyone is welcome at the launch. For more information join the Flower Safari Facebook event, search the hashtag #flowersafari on Twitter, or email joanne@byinviteonly.co.za. Pop into the launch on Thursday, 25 October, or thereafter at Let There Be Light, Side Street Studios, 48 Albert Road, Woodstock. Text: Greer McPhun Images: Supplied
