The Henry George Gallery presents bold works by 4 upcoming artists in a new exhibition entitled Essence.
Art lovers can expect to see fresh work with sensitivity, depth and edginess, expressed in oil paintings by Hari Lualhati, pen/marker drawings by Jamy van Zyl, photography by Adam Botha mixed media paintings by Karen Tearnan. The exhibition explores interpretations of consciousness, spirituality, love and communication.
Curator Darryl Gray says ‘the mix of artists and themed work represents our intention to have more freedom in what we exhibit – applied also to the variety of work we show – than larger, more established galleries in Joburg. The last thing we want is a sterile, intimidating atmosphere. And we aim to cater both for the serious collector or anyone wanting to own a piece that they simply enjoy on sight.’
Dates: Essence opens at 6pm, 22 April and closes 16 May. Walkabouts with the artists will take place on the morning of Saturday 25th.
Location: Henry George Gallery, 6th avenue in Parkhurst.
