The 16th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival will run in both Cape Town and Johannesburg from the 5 June until 15 June 2014. International highlights include:

  • Oscar nominee Cutie and the Boxer
  • Sundance Grand Jury Prizewinner Return to Homs and Audience Award winner The Green Prince
  • Oscar-winning Errol Morris’s documentary on Donald Rumsfeld
  • Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell, named Best Documentary by both The New York Film Critics Circle and The Los Angeles Film Critics Association
Screenings will include: The Unknown Known Return to Homs The Green Prince Finding Fela Dangerous Acts Starring The Unstable Elements of Belarus   Concerning Violence Cutie and The Boxer Finding Vivian Maier My Name Is Salt Stories We Tell 12 O’Clock Boys The Perverts Guide to Ideology The Last Boers of Patagonia The Great Night  The Pirate Bay: Away From Keyboard This prestigious documentary festival will be running at the Nu Metro at the V&A Waterfront, at The Labia Theatre in Cape Town and The Bioscope in Joburg.
