Famous for his geometric furniture designs and assemble-it-yourself kits, New Zealand’s top international designer, David Trubridge’s lamps are craftsmanship wizardry. Offered in a kit set to reduce freighting and helping to preserve the environment, each piece of this geometric polyhedron is identical which makes home assembly easy. The Coral Pendant Lamp, made from sustainable bamboo plywood, was inspired by the brightly coloured coral reefs frequented on his round-the-world sailing voyages. ‘The way it grows outwards with fingers reminds me of coral. I love to snorkel over reefs exploring the amazing detail and structure of all the various corals,’ explains David on his website. Available in a variety of colours and 5 sizes from 400mm in diameter to 1700mm in diameter, the lamps are easily assembled with help from David’s instructional video.
