Astronomy Gastronomy

Twelve Apostles Hotel recently started offering stargazing experiences in Cape Town. After a delicious three-course sunset dinner, enjoyed in the light and airy Café Grill, guests are escorted to The Kraal, a unique outdoor events space, to experience the wonder of the African night sky. Situated on the slopes of Table Mountain, this venue offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. This historical site, used as a milk shed in days gone by, is a great spot for some rustic outdoor stargazing. Its mountain location, with minimal light pollution is ideal for seeing stars. Astronomer Chris de Coning and astronomy enthusiast Suki Lock will enlighten guests for an hour and a half on the stars in the southern hemisphere, with the aid of two professional telescopes for a close-up look at the Milky Way. The next Astronomy Gastronomy evening will be on 29 and 30 April 2014. Time: Dinner 7pm - 8:30pm; Stargazing - 9pm - 10:30pm Venue: Café Grill and The Kraal Price: R395 per person (excluding drinks) For bookings, call 021-437-9029 or email Text Zelda Hamilton
