I have to confess that I am feeling rather good today. Despite all the madness, I managed to sneak in a facial yesterday. This, I must declare, is not a common occurrence for me. But it was long overdue and very necessary. Recently hubby and I went to Simola Day Spa in Knysna. Here I was introduced to the amazing products from Africology. I was so impressed by these products and the quality of the treatments (we had great Swedish massages and a jet bath soak), that after my treatment, I twisted hubby's arm to get a lemongrass body balm. I have been using it for about a week and I simply can' get enough of it. It is like a miracle cure for many an ailment. Imagine my surprise when over dinner one night this week, a family friend poured out her admiration and love for these products. She sung their praises. As it so happens, I was in between skin products at this time and simply couldn't find any joy with what was on the shelves. Then and there I decided that I was going to explore this range. The very next day I walked into the Randburg store to stock up. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and guided me through the vast range of products and treatments. Seeing as we are heading out on a safari soon, I opted for the travel sizes. These are both compact and give me a chance to test the products before making a major commitment. The day wore on and due to many trials and hurdles I was starting to feel very overworked and run down. I made a spur of the moment decision and called to make an appointment for an express facial. And boy am I glad that I did. The treatments are offered in the Rosebank Africology store. A beautiful sanctuary of calm and tranquility. The store is quiet and airy with beautiful floral displays. It is an ode to the products. My therapist soon came to get me and led me through the stunning black and white marble hallway. The treatment room was sumptuous with ornate damask wallpaper in dusky tones. Soft music enveloped me and I could already start to feel myself relax. The express facial was a great experience as it is based on differente sensory experiences. A combination of cream and clay, water and mist is used. It is simply lovely and left my skin feeling soft and nourished. My therapist was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. She gave me good advice and anticipated many of my concerns. I have found my new cosmetic love. This morning I was so excited to use my new products. I loved starting my morning with this little ritual. Sigh...
