The PPC Imaginarium winners have been announced at the Young Blood Gallery in Bree Street. A total of 47 finalists were selected for the 2015/16 round of the competition – more than double that of the previous year.
A judging panel selected by PPC Imaginarium Awards Director Daniel van der Merwe evaluated submissions from across the country in five categories, including Industrial Design, Jewellery, Sculpture, Film and Fashion.
Judges were briefed to look specifically at how innovative each submission was, a criterion that is given a lot of emphasis in these awards.

The first leg of the travelling exhibition will run from 4 to 26 February at the Youngblood Gallery in Cape Town, with the opening night forming part of the Mother City’s ‘First Thursdays’ initiative.
The overall competition winner – who takes home the grand prize of R100 000 – will be announced at the UJ Gallery at the University of Johannesburg in Auckland Park on 3 March. The exhibition will be on show there until 28 March 2016 before moving to Pretoria Arts Association from 01 to 12 April 2016.
