SA wins gold at Chelsea Flower Show
It seems that our local flora is indeed fascinating to the outside world… South Africa has scooped its 31st gold medal for our “Botanical Landscapes” entry at this year’s prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London. Designed by David Davidson and Ray Hudson, the display showcases the indigenous plants of the Western and Northern Cape including fynbos, and never-before-seen-at-Chelsea rare plants from the Karoo. Our entry was kindly sponsored by the department of agriculture and rural development of the Western Cape Provincial Government, the SA Gold Coin Exchange and Scoin shops. Yet another wonderful reason for visitors to flock to our shores! Another accolade for SA tourism is Cape Town’s recent win on TripAdvisor as the world’s top tourism destination. Check it out here.
