Open Gardens Festival

Spend a relaxing weekend in some of the best gardens in Franschhoek with the Open Gardens Festival from 25 to 27 October 2013. Ten of the best gardens in and around the Franschhoek area will be open to visitors. Whether you favour indigenous, formal, tropical, village or farm gardens, there will be something for everyone. Participating gardens include Mont Pellier, La Providence and the Franschhoek Manor. There will also be a tea and bubbly garden, a fresh goods market and live music in the town centre. The plant sale has also become a very popular attraction. A weekend pass costs R100 per person, but groups of ten or more get R20 discount per person. Half-price tickets are available from Sunday at 12pm. Tickets are available in the town centre, in front of the Town Hall. All proceeds go to the Lions Club of Franschhoek in aid of Fleur de Lis, Home for the Aged. Some of the guest houses and B&Bs are offering special weekend rates for festival guests. The festival opens on Friday 25 October at 12pm until 5pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 5pm. For more information, visit or contact Fay at Text Astrid Sanders Photographs Eddie Wilson
