Travel back to 1715

If you're a fan of the finer things in life and love a tailored culinary experience then you wont want to miss out on this fleeting Cognac-inspired pop-up bar and restaurant in Sandton. To mark the brand's very first entry into the country, 1715 by Martell Cognac recently opened its doors in the Sandton Eye with a focus on celebrating the historic brand's association with all things indulgent, luxurious and...cognac. The swish venue offers you an array of options to enjoy their fine Cognac - whether for after work drinks or Cognac cocktails at the bar or for dinner and live entertainment, but our recommendation would be their tailored Cognac pairing lunch. It's an impressive culinary journey geared to teach you all you need to know about the spirit, prepared by local foodies Vicky Crease and Caro de Waal and hosted by none other than Martell Cognac's own brand ambassador Triya Govender with a Cognac paired with every dish. Martell has also designed the space to engage the senses with, among other bespoke creations, an electronic piano whose keys are activated by drops of cognac that fall from the ceiling. Make sure you book for your paired cognac experience, held every Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 till 3:30pm. Most importantly, 1715 by Martell Cognac will only be open until 21 November, so get going!
