Trams In The Winelands

As of this month, visitors to the majestic Franschhoek Wine Valley will be able to experience not one, but two world-class wine estates by tram. L’Ormarins Estate and Anthonij Rupert Estate owner Johan Rupert came up with this clever concept, which will provide guests with a classic and scenic way of travelling between two of the country’s finest wine farms. Every 30 minutes, the San Francisco-style trams will move between two locations on a hop-on-hop-off basis, from the Franschhoek Motor Museum on L’Ormarins Estate to two tasting rooms situated on the adjacent farm, Anthonij Rupert Estate. Visitors will be allowed to enjoy lunch, wine tasting and, of course, visit the Franschhoek Motor Museum. The journey boasts several breathtaking viewing spots throughout the vineyards, as well as great sights of the Franschhoek Wine Valley and Groot Drakenstein Mountains.
