The Winter Sculpture Fair

After a hugely successful debut last year, the Winter Sculpture Fair, presented by Mastercard, is returning to the Nirox Scuplture Park. Organised by the Artlogic team, the fair promises to be a great outing for art, wine and food lovers in a unique countryside setting near the Cradle of Humankind. The NIROX SCULPTURE | WINTER '14 exhibition will be curated by Mary-Jane Darrol and will feature a range of South African contemporary sculptures. There will be over one hundred sculptures on view by over fifty artists. We are particularly excited about Frank van Reenen’s commission The Giant, which was funded by Mastercard. It will go on display for the first time at the fair. Visitors will be able to meander through the sculptures with some of the country’s best wines in hand. A showcase of 38 of Franschhoek’s best eateries, producers and wineries will be on offer on the day to provide deluxe lunches perfect for a picnic with family and friends. The Winter Sculpture Fair will be taking place on 10 and 11 May 2014 from 10am until 5pm daily at the Nirox Sculpture Park near the Cradle of Humankind. Tickets cost R100 per person. Children under 12 enter for free. Tickets can be purchased through webtickets.co.za. For more information, visit wintersculpturefair.co.za. Text Lizette Watts
