The Meeting Tree Market is KwaZulu-Natal’s newest market and is a wonderful mix of live music, tasty food, coffee, beer, and unique handmade crafts. Held on the first Sunday of the month, creators Carol and Rob explain that it all started with a vision of wanting an experiential lifestyle market, with bespoke crafts and excellent food and entertainment. ‘We have a beautiful piece of land on the edge of the Shongweni Valley overlooking the dam, which we thought would be the perfect location for such a market. The land has pine trees perfectly positioned on two tiers of land, as if planted there for that very purpose. The vendors set up under the shade of the pine tress, facing the beautiful view.’ Carol and Rob say crafters and vendors are carefully chosen according to their creations and there is an emphasis on unique, beautiful and hand made items, such as Joomla Coffee, Afro’s Braai’d Chicken, CJ’s Deli, Isla Designs, Ochre Decor, Handmade, Vanilla House and Kish Mish. This gorgeous location along with a mix of fabulous crafters and chilled music from 5th Season Jazz Band is set to create a wonderful ambience. The Meeting Tree market will be held on 7 July 2013 from 11am to 4pm at B5, Kassier Road EXT Shongweni. Entrance costs R10 (a donation per car towards the band).
