August Dawn cocktail recipe

We like Grey Goose's philosophy of welcoming the warm weather early this year with their delicious 2012 Spring range of unique cocktails. They're greeting the arrival of this season in the Southern Hemisphere with a bang by introducing a few drinks that instantly remind you of sunshine and lazing beside the pool. Created by mixologist Kevin Snyman, the cocktails are reminiscent of the fresh spring mornings that we experience here in South Africa. August Dawn, one cocktail that we certainly can't wait to try, is made using fresh passion fruit pressed with sweet vanilla, a dash of light citrus and fresh pineapple, then shaken with Grey Goose vodka and strained into a tall glass over crushed ice. Ingredients: 25ml Grey Goose vodka 20ml vanilla syrup 15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice 20ml fresh pineapple juice 1Ž2 passion fruit Glass: Tall glass filled with crushed ice Garnish: Mint sprig and granadilla half Directions: Cut the passion fruit in half and empty into a cocktail shaker. Add all remaining ingredients to the shaker. Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with half a passion fruit and a sprig of mint. Image and recipe: Grey Goose
