Glenfiddich launches Project XX whisky

Glenfiddich is the most awarded single malt whisky of our time. The brand was founded in 1877 by William Grant, who established its beginnings alongside his family in the Gaelic Valley. This family distillery producing award-winning whisky has continuously proved to the connoisseurs what it is like to enjoy an artfully crafted spirit. Glenfiddich recently launched their experimental series, produced by a collaboration of industry trailblazers. The result was Project XX. The series is designed to inspire unusual and unexpected variants. Project XX  was created by a collaboration of 20 whiskey experts from 16 different countries, who had the freedom to choose their cask from the distillery in Dufftown. Their choices were married into one of the most unique, treasured flavourings. Brian Kinsman carefully combined the global choices. He commented;

“The final liquid was exceptional – and a special tribute to each individual cask the malts came from. The Glenfiddich Project XX we’re launching today is a recreation of that initial small vatting. It has the warm summer fruity character of a classic Glenfiddich but then its ‘multiple personalities’ are revealed as the flavours of candyfloss, cinnamon spice, almonds and rich port tannins kick in with the odd hint of liquorice.”

The final result of this highly anticipated experiment is one characterised by innovation and uniqueness. This 'liquid-gold' will appeal to all single malt whisky enthusiasts around the world. The Glenfiddich Experimental Series launches in South Africa from October 2016, retailing at R999.00 at all leading liquor outlets. For more information, please visit: Glenfiddich.com/za
