After nine months of preparation and much anticipation, Mojo Market has finally opened, taking over an entire block in Cape Town’s Sea Point. The idea for the week-long market came from Graeme Robinson, Robbie Lessem and Tara Lerner, the owners of Mojo Hotel, who wanted to enhance their guests’ experiences while also offering Sea Point residents a diverse new shopping and lifestyle space.
Designed by Indigo Fusion and Jade and Ginja, Mojo Market makes the most of its Atlantic Seaboard positioning with plenty of seating and floor-to-ceiling views, which invite guests to linger. Its decor is both industrial and chic, featuring a combination of Art Deco pieces with wood and metallic accents.
Food-wise, Mojo Market has only the best: Breakfast Bar, Cape Point Bakery, IYO Burgers, The Mussel Monger & Oyster Bar, Hokey Poke, Earthfire Pizza, Beet Box and The Candy Shoppe are just a few of the amazing culinary stands included in the space.
For coffee drinkers, the Mojo Coffee Collective is open 24 hours a day and showcases the best of Cape Town’s artisanal coffee roasters, such as Deluxe, Truth and Origin, as well as Mojo’s own blend.
Once you’ve had your foodie fix, it’s time to shop the plethora of local and international goods on offer. Think clothing, jewellery, homeware, leather pieces and accessories from the likes of Shika-Africa, King Kong Leather, Just a Rumour, Modern and Tribal, Dammit Janet, Kwaai Gallery and many more. There’s even a creative hair salon for women and a new barber experience for men called Blades and Bones, both by Kelly Red.
With all that Mojo Market has in store, it’s set to be the new go-to spot in Cape Town and one definitely worth exploring by day or night. Mojo Market is open from Monday to Sunday between 10am and 9pm. Find it at 30 Regent Road, Sea Point, Cape Town and follow on Facebook to stay in the loop.
