Magic of Bubbles Festival

Just in time for the start of the festive season, the annual Franschhoek ‘Magic of Bubbles’ festival sponsored by MasterCard will be taking place from 30 November to 1 December 2013. The two-day event will take place on the lawns surrounding the iconic Huguenot Monument where several marquee tents will house some of South Africa and France’s best food and drink. Guests will have the opportunity to taste some of South Africa’s Méthode Cap Classiques, made using virtually the same method used in the Champagne-region to make Champagne, and compare this to some of the best French Champagnes. Famous Champagne houses such as Billecart Salmon, Champagne Guy Charbaut and Veuve Clicquot will be participating. For a full list of participating South African MCC creators and French Champagne houses, visit the website. There will also be a food tent where guests can enjoy culinary delights from reputed restaurants such as The Restaurant at Grande Provence, Bread & Wine, Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant, The SalmonBar, Dieu Donné, Haute Cabrière, Roca, Café BonBon, Huguenot Fine Chocolates and Le Franschhoek. ‘What better way to enjoy the natural beauty and heritage of Franschhoek than while sampling exquisite, locally-produced food and Cap Classiques at the Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival,’ says Division President of MasterCard South Africa, Philip Panaino. Tickets for the festival cost R200, which includes a complementary tasting glass and tasting coupons. Additional coupons can be bought at the festival. Guests buying tickets and additional coupons with a MasterCard can enjoy a 10% discount on both purchases. Entry is free for children under 18 years of age. Tickets are available via webtickets.co.za. The festival takes place between 12am and 5pm on 30 November and 1 December 2013 on the lawns surrounding the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek.
